We recognize that the full cost of private school education is beyond the means of some valued students and families. FMCS is a recipient of the Early Learning Coalition of SWFL VPK Voucher, and a recipient of the Step Up for Student scholarships and the AAA Scholarship programs. Families are encouraged to apply for these programs separately. Please note, the ELC VPK Voucher does cover the entire cost of FMCS’ half-day VPK Program, and can be applied to the total cost of the full-day VPK program. However, the full cost of this extended day program will require additional tuition above the use of the voucher. Similarly, the Step Up for Student and AAA Scholarships do not cover the full cost of annual tuition. Families will need to budget for the remaining tuition balance once a scholarship has been applied. Tuition balances can be paid through a 10-month payment plan.
Additionally, FMCS provides supplemental scholarship opportunities through private donors via the FACTS Financial Aid application. These smaller scholarships are limited to enrolled students of families who demonstrate a documented financial need and who could not otherwise afford the cost of attending.
Partial scholarships are available through the state of Florida: the Step Up For Students Scholarships and the AAA Scholarship Foundation.
(for enrolled students only)
Step Up for Students
Gov. Ron DeSantis signed House Bill 1 on Monday, March 27, expanding school choice options in Florida. The changes will take effect on July 1, 2023. We know many of you have questions about what this means for your family.
Following are some highlights from the bill and we encourage you to visit the Step Up For Students Legislative Updates page for more details. Please continue checking this page for more updates. Step Up For Students will be adding more information as it is available.
Florida Tax Credit Scholarship and Family Empowerment Scholarship for Educational Options
- Expands eligibility for all K-12 students, regardless of household income.
- Converts the scholarships into education savings accounts, or “ESAs” allowing families more flexibility in how they invest in their children’s education.
- For families who will use the scholarship for full-time private school tuition and fees, parents/guardians must agree to have their Scholarship Funding Organization, or “SFO,” commit scholarship funds on behalf of their students before using ESA funds for other authorized uses of program funds.
- Creates a new program called the Personalized Education Program, or “PEP”, to serve Florida’s home education population who would like to use state scholarship funds in an education savings account to assist with the educational needs of their Personalized Education Students.
